9 trout to 1 1/2 lb , with a number lost. Most activity before lunch, largely to gold head ptn but a couple on dry. Slowed down pm. No significant hatch of fly but left before the evening. A good day's fishing.

I caught one brown trout about eight inches long. The Usk was quite big and coloured but fishable in places.

Cold and windy. Very few fish rising. Otter seen in the river. 7 trout caught on wet flies. 2 with dry flies. 2 fish of about 1lb the rest small. All fish returned.

Dreadful downstream wind made fishing hard.

Great fishing - starting at 2 pm and olives hatching constantly until 8 pm. All fish caught on dries including Dogsbody, Rupert Bear,Tup's and Griffiths gnat. Very good quality fish up to 2lbs. A memorable day.

Did not see any Salmon.

What a beautiful spot! We caught several small brownies, but failed to land them, they craftily spitting out the not properly taken flies! Lots of flies hatching but the fish not feeding...
Watched a MINK potter along the North bank ... There was a heron fishing off the island and a lot of mallard. Fish beginning to rise a bit as we had to leave for home!(6.30 PM)

No rising fish; downstream nymphing. Two fish kept.

Tough conditions for a lot of the day (gust downstream wind) but still a very good day on the river. 9 trout netted, 6 on dry fly and the others to upstream spiders. Watched some otters playing and 2 herons which made fishing difficult in some pools but still nice to see.

Excellent days fishing with guide Oliver burch. Brown trout to 1lb caught on a variety of methods. Steady hatches during the day to 5.30 pm.
