An evening session, sinker and trotting where possible. No takes on meat, one strike on bread but no hook. River was low on most pegs. Lots of surface feeding activity around 7.30pm but on the opposite bank where flow was faster.

A few rainbows sipping buzzers over weed when we got there and we managed to get two out and missed a few more. That all stopped when the sun came out.
Quite a challenge with the weed growth but good fun In excellent surroundings.
We had a few casts at Rhosrydd but nothing happening there.

2 Trout

Water level as low as i have ever seen it and weed growth heavy but still a wonderful place to spend the day, even managed to catch a small wild carp from a clear hole in the middle with legered corn. We will return!

A small river in a beautiful setting. The fishing felt like jungle warfare. We saw plenty of small Trout, but getting close enough to them was impossible. No fish caught.

I only had a limited time on the river. I'm a warden at Biblins campsite and it was very busy that day. The barbel (about 8lbs) was caught at first light on luncheon meat. It didn't present the normal barbel fight and, when landed, appeared to have a white fungus on its back near the dorsal fin. It took ages to recover even though it had been a short fight. Apologies I forgot to photograph the fungus

Both Chub were a decent size and did fight as expected. However they also looked drab and in less than good condition. I also caught two eels.

One Chub and both eels were caught in the evening.

I have to say the amount of algae in the river was a real problem. I lost three feeders and every chuck had to be cleaned off when I reeled in. The river is very low which just revealed how covered in algae every pebble is.

1 Barbel, 2 Chub, 2 Other
