Water was pushing through quite hard today so need 4oz feeder to hold bottom. 5 fish in the morning including the biggest barbel that gave a real good account of its self in the current. Barbel were 10lb 2oz, 8lb and 5lb 7oz. Chub were all in the 2lb bracket. the smallest barbel came around 2pm. Left at 3.30pm as 3 hr drive home. All came on pellet feeder, not a twitch on meat.

Enjoyed a wonderful few hours fishing. Only 3 barbel caught, but what a lovely stretch. Fish all fell to meat and groundbait feeder. Will definitely return on the future

Very fast flow throughout today. Only managed one pristine chub but enjoyed the day nonetheless.

River still had a lot of colour at 2’1 on the gauge.
Gave it a go for 5 hours or so but no salmon caught or seen.

River was up and coloured, well within its banks. Wading out of the question so the beat becomes extremely limited. Add the electric fence , the Himalayan balsam , the nettles , the willow herb and you are down to a fraction of fishable bank on one bank only . I think the description of the river and fishing needs a refresh to avoid disappointment.
Nice bit of river though .

I had four grayling
Three grayling were hooked on the dropper
