No fish caught

A wet blustery day, however with a small gold bead crane fly I landed two half pound Brownies.

A very wet blustery day, however casting short with a small Gold bead crane fly, I managed to land three half pound Brownies, which were returned safely.

Dry with sunny spells. Very windy along the dam but pretty sheltered along the east bank. Hooked one brownie but lost it.

5 wild brown trout, most of them about 3/4lb. Morning session up to mid-day. Quite a few takes missed and lost fish - they weren't really having it.

This water is being heavily poached. Lots of empty worm tins on the bank. We reported those we saw.

Intermittent rain, about 17C and a southerly breeze. Quite a change from a week of high pressure and blue sunny skies. The odd small fish rising at the dam end on arrival at 8am. One small brownie rushed out to harass the bob fly at the end of a retrieve near the old boathouse. Otherwise no other contacts. Overall impressions on this my first visit: an attractive water, which probably fishes well on the right day; however, slightly let down by the traffic noise on the adjacent A470 and the heavily wooded western side and top end, which makes access challenging.

Nice bright morning, wind light, one lovely brown trout caught from the east bank near the north end.

Sadly blanked on a very wet and windy day. True wilderness fishing. Here's hoping for better weather next time.

Fished dam end. No sign of any fish rising at any point in the day.
