Intense conditions with driving wind and rain at points. Still, great to be out on the water. 7 fish to about 17". 6 on a Captain Peacock, 1 on a ClanKate. Several other anglers out on the water, all friendly and up for a chat. All fish taken in and around the river mouth at the top of the lake.

With the drought the reservoir is unfishable. The mud is impassable in most places close to the shore. Managed to find a couple of old collapsed stone walls which gave some firm(er) footing. Did catch one brown trout (approx. 8 inch) on a black gnat.

Hi
A blustery day with the water level below the clay line making it soft clay to the margins, cloudy water, therefore unfishable.

This was my first attempt at catching wild browns and although the conditions were good, the trout were too quick for me.
Fished for about 3 hours from 9:30 am. I had one serious offer, I had one on which unhooked itself when it leapt clear of the water, and another couple of taps. Overall an enjoyable morning in beautiful surroundings
