Wind made life difficult. Plenty of hawthorn hatching by the old bridge pillars and fish responded as wind died down. Lots of fish showing just off the dam in the calmer water but impossible to reach!

Storm Hannah nearly put my mate and I off - but we thought what the heck, it's worth taking the risk. In reality it was a showery, blustery day - but what did we expect, it's April.
I had 3 brownies. A tiddler before lunch, then a decent 12.5" fish (which jumped several times), then (on advice from others, I'd put on a black lure) a 15" brownie. All fish fin perfect and beautifully shaped and marked. Very nice.

Nice evening on a lovely water. Sadly strong wind made casting quite difficult. Access to the lake side is very limited and may need some additional work to free up a bit more bankside.

Conditions were bright with hardly any wind, but there was a ripple on the water. Never caught or saw any movement or any fish rising all day although there was fly on the water. It's difficult to judge what ideal conditions would be on this water.

Well plumbed for Talybont today , after a look at the weather , still that niggling Easterly gggrrrr !!!!!!! But gave it a bash . . . . Turning up at half nine , things didn't look bad , although the sun was starting to poke through , ever good here fussy fish these Talybont brownies !!!!

Was seven degrees when I tackled up , firstly a Peter Ross , and bloody Butcher , top team for searching out hungry brownies , thinking I may get some interest in them , well having tried every thing over three hours , including a black tadpole with hot orange head , not a sniff, in fact it was totally dour to say the least !!!!

The wind was changing direction regularly and making the day really difficult , tied a good coverage of the Western shore , and even worked two buzzers enticingly in the current !!!!

Hind sight is a wonderful thing , perhaps Bugeilyn may have been a better option today , that wind here was crazy and one minute from dam end up to the top , then next minute totally the opposite , shall not be defeated , and will give it another bash sooooooon , although paying a bit more attention to the weather and stay till last light , after all it's a hundred mile round trip and thirteen quid , so nice to get the most out of it !!!!! Ha ha !!!!

That said still a cracking place to have a blank , beats being at work any day of the week !!! Shall return ready for a rematch with Salmo Trutta of Talybont !!!!!!! Happy days !
