Wet and windy but had three 14" trout on dry fly, mostly when the wind dropped, after only one pull on wets. Sheep even down the valley meant a long wait to get in and out.

Started well with small trout on surface then howling and cold wind put paid to the fun.
No shortage of rises in the early hour before sense prevailed.

Great evening fishing despite only catching a single trout of 17" on Copper John, plenty of small fish rising looks promising for the future would have liked to have fished longer but restricted to 2 hours. Fantastic place to fish, will be back hopefully very soon.

Fished only for a few hours. Strong winds made casting difficult. Peaceful but no fish caught.

Great to be back at this fabulous water , as mentioned before , in my catch return , which for some reason is saying I haven't submitted one !!!! Excellent day , difficult to start with , bright sun , and only slight ripple on lake , caught later on in the day, two healthy superb conditioned brownies , both retuned to the water , good fun , shall be back very sooooooooon !!!!!!!!!!

Turned up at the majestic Talybont Reservoir at eleven in the morning , initially a nice ripple coming from the dam down the lake , where I fished the top end . Bright sun burned through the cloud cover , making the day tricky fishing , however , the dinner bell must have been rung at around half six , as rises appeared everywhere, and it seemed the trout were being very selective . I eventually caught at around Seven , on a static black buzzer , a beautifully marked Talybont brownie of about a pound or so . It wasn't long before I was into another , again the same stamp , and not one of the two pounders that were crashing about mid water , taken this time on the green buzzer , again static . A great few hours , shall look forward to some sedge action here in June , and will hang on till the glooming on my next sortie here , as I'm told the sport can be exceptional . . . . Bring it on !!!!!!!!!!

Fished Tal-y-bont reservoir on October 16th to end the Stillwater trout season. 5 brownies were landed in a late afternoon session of a few hours at the top end, all on floating line, 20 foot long leader and red-head tadpole fly. Best fish was a magnificent 17 ½ inch cock fish, with the rest being 12 -13 inches. All returned to grow bigger for next season!
