Great Day on a new stretch of the Wye. Arrived at 10am and walked the upstream length from the access point. Some beautiful looking pools, runs and riffles. Settled into a social swim either side of an obvious holding point. In scorching sun, low water and high air pressure managed to land 13 barbel and numerous chub between us on pellet and feeder. The bites were very confident pick ups and drop backs...no screaming 6 foot twitches which often indicates totally unpressured fish. Caught even on a 2" hooklink such was the confidence of the fish. This stretch should fish well over the season.
Excellent day and was treated to the Wye Mink Hounds in full cry. Wonderful sight to behold and didn't affect the fishing at all.
Many Thanks again WUF.

Lovely day and great new stretch of water. Only managed to fish about 5 swims from Carey Pool at the top to just below the islands but took 2 Barbel (6 lbs and 8 lbs) and 2 Chub (1 1/2 lbs and 4 lbs) all on a cocktail of small pellet and red maggots (neither seemed to work on their own). Nice way to finish the season - can't wait until Summer. Found one swim where the spot you'll sit in is so protected from the elements that when the sun came out I had to take my jacket off!

2 x kelt (approx 8lbs and 10lbs). Both caught on a yellow flying 'c'. This beat is almost entirely a spinning water, with only 2 areas for a fly. Great spinning beat though.
