Slow day trying to figure out how to approach this beat. Had a barbel first thing and struggled most of the day but wonderful weather and scenery helped. Got the stick out midday and managed 2 chub. Switch back to feeder when the bites dried. Last knockings got the stick back out and managed another 2 chub and a barbel. Had a fantastic weekend staying at the annex . Fished foy and how Capel. Right on your doorstep. Couldn't get a better location for these beats. Will be returned next year for sure.

Not a huge amount of swims to choose from between the 2 of us. River looked good, nice colour, maybe flowing a tad fast. Not many bites, but no blank. I think the sudden change in over night temperature effected the fishing. Other was eel.

The second day of my two day visit to Foy bridge, timing couldn't have been worse with 2.5M on overnight Sunday to Monday. Tuesday first light there was still 1.75M on and to be honest only one fishable swim. One small chub fell to pellet early on. Rang the changes with meat, pellet and boilies on the feeder but nothing. Gave up at 14:30 and went home! This stretch is really only a low water venue in my opinion; the river narrows slightly here and any amount of water bolts through!

River well up and banging through, took one look and decided to give it a miss and rebook on next section down where much more fishable. Maybe someone with more skill and heavier leads could have managed, but that's not me I'm afraid.

River dropping from 2.5M overnight. I fished 16:30 to dusk, river still pushing through and so not surprisingly nothing caught. Rang the changes with meat, pellet and boilies on the feeder but nothing.
