My first time fishing in the UK, and wasn’t sure what level the river was normally at. It seemed high, as there was only a foot of visibility and lots of grass submerged Caught one nice Grayling and 4 Very small fish...I think they were juvenile salmon? All caught using Czech nymphing techniques. Fished about 2 hours. Very fun!

2 x grayling 8 - 14 inches, 2 x out of season trout 12-14 inches, Pink Shrimp, Tungsten Hare's Ear and Grey Duster. Like summer again today with 20 degrees temperature, blue sky and bright sun. Fishing interesting, but quite tough with water very low and clear. Prolific growth of weed this year in the open sections. A couple of rising fish mid-afternoon.

River low and clear, my first visit to the beat so spent half the time exploring it. Nothing rising so fished the duo and picked up two out of season trout on the nymph. No sign of grayling despite fishing likely looking runs.

Water clear but banks overgrown and reeds in the water making some places impossible to fish. When wading a tremendous amount of silt disturbed. No rises seen at all. DG caught all but the minnow.

Arrived at midday with only a short time to fish. River was very clear and there was a good flow. Water marks on the high banks still showing how high the river must have been during the recent rain.
Managed to tempt 4 Grayling but it was difficult fishing. Quite a bit of fly life but didn’t see a rise all afternoon (except at my fly). Usual wildlife spotted and still a great afternoon out in the sunshine despite the difficult conditions. Thanks

Was due to try the main river but put off by spending all day out in the heat so head this local-ish beat for an afternoon.
River was very quiet, only seeing one fish rise consistently. One trout and one grayling caught in the faster water while the other three trout all caught in slower stuff above the weir. Hadn’t gone that far up before - turns into a wild stream with access and casting becoming a challenge.
The best trout of the day, a 15”-er, was caught of an absolutely pathetic cast into some very slow water. Hadn’t seen the fish move but he walloped the fly almost as soon as it hit the water. All fish released safely.
Thank you to the WUF and the landowners.

lovely looking section of river if you could get to it, access in very difficult due to overgrowth on the bank, too nearly an hour to get to the water, also nearly impossible to cast for all the nettles and trees. shame. be good in the winter

A hot evening - with pollen levels exacerbated by the newly cut hay not particularly comfortable. The bullocks were in the leat again causing turbidity downstream of where that enters the river but also the river was turbid with algae until the sun went in.
6 fish to hand - 5 wbt best 12" - and one grayling. With the barn owl for company a nice evenings diversion....
