River with a slight tinge of colour maybe from the overnight storms in the area. 3 chub from one swim early in the session. A small barbel from one of the more open swims in the cow field. 2 fish lost from under the trees, one felt like a decent fish, then one landed around the 6lb. A 7lb fish followed from another of the swims under the trees. At least we a caught. All fish taken on quivertip.

10 chub between us in 9 hours on pellet and meat. River was drastically low. Only managed to find 2 accessible swims after nearly 2 hours searching because of surface weed and overgrown bankside. Very disappointed with the venue. Wont be going back.

Another poor day on this beautiful stretch of water. Fished near the orchard and also in the lower meadow. A few small chub but no sign of the barbel anywhere. The weather was again very hot and the water level even lower than the previous Wednesday. It started to thunder in the distance about 8pm so it was prudent to start packing up and wonder where all the barbel had been hiding. I will return to fish again in the future and hope that the river levels are a little higher next time.

There is never a bad day on the Wye, but the low river and hot bright conditions are making it tough going. There were a couple of swims that produced the fish but one of them was very difficult to return the fish safely, so it took two of us, one in the water to land and unhook the fish safely, and one fishing. I drew the short straw and spent my time in the water, may be not so bad given the weather. I would just like to emphasise that in these conditions the fish welfare should come first and if you can't land and release the fish safely in a given swim, don't fish it!

River very low and weather boiling hot, no fish moving or to be seen anywhere on the lower stretch of the fishery. A poor days fishing after excellent experiences in previous year. I can only put it down to river levels and heat, however I will be back to try again it is still a wonderful venue.

2 Barbel, 4 Chub, 1 Eel on meat and pellet. Two rods blanked. Hard to find any decent flow. Kids swimming and jumping out of trees. I don't think it can get much tougher.

Arrived mid morning on the hottest day of the year to find the Barbel clearly visible and flashing in the sunlight mid river (along with 2 Salmon). The river was very low and clear and a 50g feeder was enough to hold the bottom. Fishing a hair rigged pellet and micro pellets in a black cap feeder I was able to pluck 6 (to 9.5lb) from this shoal, a few canoes' passed and some of the shoal dropped into near bank cover where I was able catch another 6 with the same tactics.

Fished above the orchard (after a poor day below yesterday) Only a few swims available. BB under trees near parking had all the fish, hard work but cooler. Barbel 6lb and larger one lost, plus the chub.
I fished upstream just above the stile, full sun all day and blanked, tried most things with no success. iPhone overheated! Better luck next time.

Fished all day below the Orchard. Air really cold until the sun got up then it got too hot and bright. A few bites and one chub until the sun was up then nothing, bites dried up completely. Could see massive chub against far bank but couldn't temp them.
Willow tree split and fell into field early that morning which meant the the cattle were crowded around BB's swim until all the leaves were cleared off. A surprisingly disappointing day from a stretch we thought would fish well in bright sunshine as it has the deeper swims! Better luck next year.
