2 Anglers. Sunny day. No sign of Barbel today. Found some good swims lower down. Caught in the shady ones. Lovely scenery and a Kingfisher added to our day.

Not an easy days fishing with extremely high temperatures reducing the fishable swims to those few providing an element of shade.
Nonetheless a great day was had, resulting in one Barbel of just over five pounds and seven Chub up to three pounds.

With the river low and the temperatures nearing 30 degrees for the start of September we concentrated on fishing early morning and late evening. Some good barbel to 9.5lb although the fish tended to come in short bursts.

Great days fishing, chub very active and barbel made an appearance even though we lost a few. Definitely be back to trott the very bottom end of the beat.

AVOID.
Very limited access to the river. Lower section virtually no access to water. Mid ( field) section patrolled by large bull, so unfishable. A few swim’s available in upper section upstream of orchard.
All fish caught were chublets to around 1lb mark.

4 rods blocked booked. River was flowing fast. Only found 2 swims accessible unless you had waders and rope and fancied the climb. Beautiful setting, These beats need to make sure anglers can get access. 2 out of 3 days not great value in my view
Fingers crossed tomorrow.

An interesting day, more fish caught but lost on snags including 3 barbel and a few chub.
We explored the top end of the beat but alas no means of reaching the the bank. Eventually found a couple of spots towards the lower end of the fishery which were accessible with the aid of a rope. Such a shame that no one seams to be responsible for maintaining the access. This could be a really excellent venue.
