River dropping and quite cold so thought catching was probably a long shot but managed a couple of nice barbel early in the morning.

2 Barbel

River still high limiting number of fishable swims. 2 Chub of 4 and 4.5 lb and four trout all taken long trotting.
Tried boilies, meat and corn with feeder, but nothing doing

After a heavy frost the night before conditions were always going to be tough but under the circumstances we were happy to catch a few decent chub to just short of 6lb plus a couple of bonus grayling. Only criticism, it would have been nice to know the track past the orchard was closed necessitating a punishing walk through the mud.

Mud central due to last weekends floods, river was rising again too, but nabbed a few nice fish

A quick afternoon session to see if Rachel could catch her fist barbel. Mission accomplished!

Fished the orchard peg. Good start to the day with 3 barbel in the first hour or so before a cold front swept in and killed it. Had a go for pike close in, nothing doing, nicked another barbel in the afternoon. Best fish 9lb+.
