Not the best conditions with the river in flood again, but managed a few. Highlight of the day was a good sized Salmon picking up my hook bait and charging into the main flow, stripping line off my reel, getting some air twice before throwing the hook.

The paperwork for this Fishery is somewhat misleading. If the river is only slightly above Summer levels there is only one swim available at the top of the beat and only 2 or 3 at the bottom of the beat. However, once we’d sorted this out we had a great day! One tip, park in the lay-by as described on the map but walk down the road to the farm gate. It’s much quicker!

Awful day, walked up and down the lower section several times fishing likely spots then leaving bait in to come back to but nothing at all. Tried all sorts of baits to no avail. Fished 0730 to 1600 so they might have come on towards dusk but I'd had enough by then.

River dropped about 5 feet over night and fishable. Moved around a bit but ended up settled in two swims and tried to feed them up but without success. Current still storming through so could only fish near bank. Interesting episode when a bullocks stormed down the bank into the fishing area but I managed to scare him off but ended up with a face off with the Bull (very carefully I might add.) Pleasant day despite lack of Barbel.

River high and running very hard, several fish were lost due to the force of the current and using barbless hooks of course. In the end a few nice barbel to 10lb 04oz, and a brilliant perch of 2lb 8oz. - all caught on pellet

The river was high and unfishable in many places. We managed to find a few pegs and caught 3 barbel. Two of the fish were over 9lbs. Pellet and feeder was the successful method
