Started the day with hundreds of swimmers bumping through, so fished inside for little results. Swimmers fortunately died down by noon so could fish the fast flow in between the kayaks. By 2pm the kayaks had pretty much vanished until dusk, starting catching Barbel in pellet feeder with scolded pellets. Then got lots of chubby missed bites so switched to maggot feeder which caught the chub, trout and plenty more barbel. All in all a great day.

The fishing was spoiled by a wild swimming event that started at Lydbrook. 200 swimmers passing through the swim between 9:30 and midday - nightmare and wasted morning. Over 500 canoes passed through - crazy! Non- stop canoes until 3:30pm - needs regulating!!! Fish caught in small windows between canoes and swimmers and later on when canoeist numbers reduced.

I had done a recce on wyebank so kind of knew to travel light and take my ab sailing gear to get down to the river. After reading some catch reports I decided to start on the float i had about ten fish then it went dead so I went on the feeder , I ended up with 25 barbel to 3 lb and 7 chub to 3.8 lb. really enjoyed my last day and was good news after two hard days
