River level was up but fining down with a slight tinge of colour. 1 Barbel and 1 Chub caught during the afternoom and the rest caught in a 2 hour feeding spell to dusk. All caught on meat. Absolute chaos with the canoes resulting in one sinking in my swim and another turning over in the far bank willows with kids screaming they didn't want to die hanging onto the branches and their dad who wasn't wearing a life jacket trying to get them out!.. which thankfully he did. The Wyebank stretch is fast flowing especially with higher water levels and some of these people have not been in a canoe before, the hire companies should station someone at Lydbrook to keep an eye on and advise their customers how to tackle this stretch without hitting the cribs or far bank trees and sinking!... It might also help us anglers.

This report and the one before it is for two anglers CT and AW - a total of 3 barbel caught - fell to one angler - CT.
The river has dropped a foot from last week and has cleared totally. We now need some rain to put some water back on it and colour things up a little. The canoe traffic was absolutely horrendous today - floatila's of canoes constantly, with people swimming on the opposite bank and dogs swimming fetching sticks - it was terrible today!
