Booked and arrived mid afternoon and started on the float, much easier in between canoes, had two small barbel and all the chub on sweetcorn, good fun and good banter, after the end of the canoes had a couple of hours on the feeder picking up 10 small barbel biggest wouldn't go 3 lb. A pleasant afternoon in slightly less hot conditions.

Very disappointed this time. The beat is the smallest beat I ever been on the wye, which wouldn’t be an issue if you could fish on it anywhere, but because the water level was very low and there are rock dams every 10m and between them the water level around 10-20 cm, it made our day so painful.
Fished on the third rock dam in the middle of the flow which was around 2m wide - the only part of the beat where the water level was more than 20 cm! Unfortunately the 400 boats/canoes/kayaks couldn’t pass anywhere else..
Not to mention the ceremony just by us where people poured somebody’s ashes into the river.. actually just by where the baits were.. congratulations

Still managed to catch one chub ~1lb, one barbel ~1lb and two boats ~ 240lb between us.
I wouldn’t recommend this beat at all especially not for £25/day/person.
Thanks

The river was very low so fishing was restricted to the faster section only.
Used various forms of feeder with pellet. Corn, meat etc not successful at all.

Stayed at the Belvedere B+B, very clean, very friendly owners and ideally positioned for my needs. Will definitely return next year

Unbelievable sport in current weather conditions but cloud cover kept fish feeding all day.
