River low as expected, day overcast with sunny periods at times. Two of us fished the bottom pool and had 25 small barbel , up to about two pounds on pellet, some bigger fish were lost. Bites came all day on feeder and some were taking the bait just as the feeder was settling. The other in our party fished the salmon crib on the wyebank pool and had 4 small barbel 1 chub and two eels also on pellets. The only downside was that although there were paths to the various pegs, we found it a lot more strenuous than we had expected ( two over 60 and one over 70). Perhaps we will seriously have to reduce the amount of tackle we carry on future occasions. All in all a very enjoyable day.

Lots of small barbel around 1-3lb but you have to be ready for the odd lump hanging around, always a pleasure to fish the Wye, such a beautiful river

We all caught barbel on legered pellet in the fast water throughout the day despite the sunshine and absolutely hordes of canoeists (the most I've ever seen on the river, but it was a summer Sunday, so can't complain - and some of them even provided some entertaining moments). Fish were caught up to 5lb, with all the largest ones caught later in the day when the canoe traffic had died down. Only one chub, and no fish seemed interested in meat, which was tried occasionally as a change bait.

River very low and clear. Plenty of very small barbel caught using standard feeder methods and halibut pellets or boilies. Canoeists an absolute nightmare, a small but considerable number could not control the canoes they had hired and took out my lines on more than one occasion. Rude and abusive idiots that very nearly ruined the day. The hire companies are to blame mainly as that let anyone get on the river with no knowledge or skill whatsoever.
In addition I had to ask several different groups of people to leave the fishery after they had moored up close to where my father and I were fishing. Some were utterly ignorant and apologetic but left, others were rude, abusive and ignorant but still left after some 'encouragement' and language suitable for the situation. This was the first of two bookings. I did not fish the second booked date.

Three great days fishing with my son (the new format catch return would not allow me to edit the form to show two rods).
Water levels were very low and landing the larger fish over 4lbs was a little tricky. Mostly caught on pellet/feeder with a couple of chub to bread flake (6lbs largest). Most barbell in the 1lb to 2lb range with only a couple just over 6lb. Canoe traffic was very light because we fished early morning and evenings only with the mornings by far the most productive.

Caught all day, although all fish were 1LB or less. Its normally rare to catch baby barbel, but not on this beat. We did manage a 5LB Barbel from the bottom most peg and then some bigger chub wading out to the fast water at the top of the stretch below the island. Thanks WUF
