Water low and clear. Fished lower pools and caught all barbel on groundbait feeder and pellet. Chub caught on float fished corn. Caught most fish in evening. Not too many canoes. Also, must thank Don for putting us on the fish.

An early morning session which resulted in a fish first cast and plenty of knocks and taps. Unfortunately this attention was from a shoal of small Chub. One Barbel of 4lb 6ozs showed up mid session but the Chub returned and I finished up with 6 of these to 3lb 14ozs before leaving to catch the tennis. NB Despite the low river, Wyebank is still pushing through at a good pace and looks great, I'm sure that the evening would have produced more fish - maybe next time.

A very productive day, despite the scorching heat and the world and his dog being out in canoes! Over 30 barbel was far better than I expected, but a very pleasant surprise. River was low and clear, but with a very good flow all the way down the beat. Managed to find a spot under a tree so didn't get sun burnt, and started catching almost immediately. Started with fish in the 5-6lb range, progressed up to 8-9lbs and then hit the doubles - managed 6 in total, with the 2nd largest I have caught on the Wye and 4th largest on any river to date. All the barbel were caught with the same method - two 12ml elipse pellets glued to a hair on a size 10 hook. 20lb braid hooklink and 15lb mainline on my 1.75lb test curve Daiwa specialist barbel rod. Large flat-bed Drennan block-end feeder, with the holes widenend and 2, 3 and 4ml pellets on board. Although there are some snags I managed to find the clear sections and didn't lose a single feeder. And I have never seen so many canoes in my life, but in fairness they were all very respectful and conscientious of me being there. A great day and a great venue - I will be back, especially as I found a fabulous pub on the way back home!

Awesome day on the Wye considering the bright hot conditions. My friend had never caught a barbel or chub before and that didn't last long! 8lb was the biggest fish of the day with lots of 6's and 7's. All taken on pellet or boiies.

The river was running fast, low and clear, with a surprising lack of weed. Started early and started bad with a dead barbel in the swim. Managed half a dozen fish before a midday break. Interesting chat with Rudi at lunchtime and then resumed late afternoon. Fish seemed to come onto the fed when the light dulled and had a good evening. Thanks, back in September!

Fished the Bottom Pool, fishmeal groundbait feeder and double 8mm elips hair rigged. Caught steadily through the day to take 13 barbel and 8 chub.
Very enjoyable day. Had a great chat with Don too!

Lovely stretch of the Wye (isnt all of it though!) and the fishing is not bad either. Started on the usual feeder tactics to locate and fish and found a few so set up the trotting rod and caught some by trotting down the long run.
There is a huge amount of canoe traffic here as there is a pub/picnic stop just where you park up so the flotilla of boats after lunch can be quite annoying. Having said that all of the canoes were respectful of me fishing (the ones that could steer anyway) and it didn't really effect the fishing.
All in all a great day.

Fished hard all day for 4 barbel and 3 chub. Don't think I had a lot of fish in the swim, felt I did ok for the day. This swim could be fantastic on the right day, thanks again Don.
