Fished early morning hoping for a fish or two before the sun arrived. Just the 1 Chubb of around 4lb before sun and canoeists did show up. Unfortunately had to leave before lunchtime although it had the look of a day when bites were going to come first and last thing.

Conditions looked spot on however the barbel didn't play ball. Level dropped 6 inches during the day.
Next time maybe.

I only fished for a couple of hours. The river was red with canoes and the only fish I caught was an eel! About 1 pound!

Great day on the river once more. A steady day with fish being caught at regular intervals. Some welcome rain should help the flow.

Fished the meadow using various boilies with a feeder. The weather was hot and sunny and the river very low and as I expected fishing was very tough indeed-in fact not a bite all day. Canoe traffic was relentless and there was also some evidence of apparent poaching-the remains of a fire and quite a lot of litter left behind. Nevertheless a very enjoyable day as always-thank you WUF.

Day spoilt by the number of canoeist that went past us in excess of 100! However when the sun went down we managed 2 barbel & an eel all on pellet & ground bait feeder.
Still, a memorable day as it was Nicks first & second ever barbel - he was well chuffed.
Thank you WUF.

Arrived at a low river on a hot and sunny day, not ideal conditions. We mainly fished the float and had lots of chublets, I caught 24 all about 6oz - 8oz on Hemp and Tares. That part of the river is full of them, which is a good sign for the future. We also fished Pellet for the barbel but no show. Between 4 of us we had 1 good chub and 1 barbel which both came on the feeder.
There was a downside as up to 300 plus canoes came through from 10am till 4pm, unfortunately you just can't fish properly when this happens, which is a shame.
WUF Note: Heavy canoe traffic is, unfortunately, a fact of life on the Wye during the summer holidays, especially at weekends. Please see p37 in the Passport for advice on minimising the impact of canoe traffic, including revising your fishing times.

Lovely setting though only caught 1 small eel! Lost what felt a low double barbel after a ten minute fight when I got it close the rocks I was fishing from and the line pinged and broke. Lost another smaller fish from a different swim to a snag. I fished with 2 other anglers and we all lost lots of terminal tackle to snags. Fishing from the larger rock swims in the woods it got to be a feeder a cast lost at one point. A guy fishing 2 swims down found a safer spot with no losses. Quite a lot of rubbish in a few swims and evidence of very recent fires, possibly the night before, which I am guessing is down to locals fishing night sessions?
