River in fine condition after recent rain and fish were feeding most of the day. Fished the 1st swim upstream from the wooded section using meat - caught 1 decent chub and 3 barbel (7 to 8 lb) but lost another 4 due to a snag about a 3rd the way across that they seemed to aim for. A good but frustrating and expensive day!

Very good day on the leadger baited with a bait dropper every hour or so for the morning had 3 barbel between 5-7lb from 7:30ish until 11 then started the bait dropper again around 2pm had 3 very nice chub and close to a double barbel last hour of light

Very beautiful beat, but limited number of swims that have been maintained enough to be accessible. Very hard going with not even a nibble until mid afternoon when we managed a bag a nice barbel and a small chub from upper end of the beat
