A really lovely spot, river was low. We didn't catch any trout but managed a few small chub on pheasant tail nymphs between us.

Access limited to the water bur push upstream to the pool and there are places you can get in

1 Trout

water coloured and deep. i fished the top half of the beat first and found some fast water at the very top that was productive on nymphs. 2 fish to net and lost 3 more. all were over 1lb and one that i lost felt much bigger.

wading out to the foam lines & deep channels was tricky without being able to see the bottom. but worth it!

the bottom half of the beat i found completely inaccessible- the camp site bank has a drop of 15 feet all the way along & entering at the bridge & wading down stream was impossible in coloured deep water. perhaps in clear water it would be do-able

very few features on this part of the river but can imagine if the fish were rising it would be dry fly heaven with a stead y even flow.

returned to some faster water but nothing for the rest of the day.

all fish caught & lost were on the same green tag brown beaded nymph

2 Trout

Pleasant evening after heavy showers all day. Water just over .41m and warm compared to air temperature. Used a single size 12 spider pattern with partridge wings and alternate brown and blue lure flash wound body. Had an offer from a trout in woodstream which was encouraging and landed two others soon after of a pound and three quarters of a pound, but little afterwards. I switched to dry sedge at 21.30 in woodstream and enticed a large brown to smash it but it came off having left the water completely with aerial acrobatics. The fish was around two and a half pounds so disappointed I did not land it.
John fished pheasant tail nymph and landed three nice dace of around half pound each in woodstream. He also hade a take from a trout of around half pound but it came off.
Pretty good overall given the condition of the water.

Evening fishing, Many fish surfacing with may fly rising too. I had only one take and a few knocks but unfortunately no catches made.

Beautiful place a d tried so many different combinations but being 29 degree did no favours

But my happy place ????

Enjoyable day on a very nice beat but fish very reluctant to take.

Lots of fish showing just couldn't get into the water and where I could they were not interested in what I had to offer.

Again a very bright day on a new best for us.the owner was so helpful talking us through the beat.2 salmon showed,a couple of Trout showed,so a great beat,well worth a look
