Arrived at 7.30am and was set up and ready to fish by 8am. Weather was great for 30 minutes and then the heaviest rain that I have experienced for some time continued for the next two and a half hours. The river is very high and very coloured which made fishing quite difficult. Unable to cross the river by wading due to fast flow so decided to go to the bridge to cross only to find that it was partially washed away and could not be used.
I am not experienced at river fishing in these conditions and so called it a day at 11am. Other anglers may have been able to catch something but sadly not me.
The river and the location are stunning and I look forward to being able to fish it in more favourable conditions.

River was very low so there was only really one or two pools that were fishable. Lost two good-sized trout.

I fished the upstream of the stretch of river I did see what I thought was evidence of fish coming to the surface but caught nothing trying both wet and dry flys. It has better conditions for trout deep pools and over hanging tree with some nice gravely bits.
There was however quite a bit of flood damage

1 small trout caught on a nymph at the riverbend. River very low and very hot today, saw fish in the shaded ares in willows and deep holes - didn't seem interested in anything on surface even though mayflies abundant. very pretty spot though, would like to return when conditions a little better.

After reading the previous reports detailing the river conditions was not expecting much from the day, however after 6 weeks in lockdown I felt the need to get into the great outdoors.
The river is desperately low in fact in places on the lower section of the beat the river had actually dried up completely. There are probably three for four sections that offer an opportunity for you to get a fly onto the water. With the lack of flow algae is building up on the surface making it difficult to fish what pools are still fishable.
Its a beautiful location and beat, but very sad to see a river with these low water levels. We need some prolonged rain in Wales before the river becomes fishable again in my opinion, there was a May Fly hatch but very little reaction from the fish.

Nice day out, tricky conditions with a good breeze and river very low and clear. All fish taken on nymph fished New Zealand style, though had several rises and lost fish to various drys.
