River had dropped to just below 2m on the Ross gauge, but was flowing strongly, although the chocolate tinge had gone. Fished the margins and slacks. Both barbel around the 6lb mark.

What an afternoon to be by the river. All fish ,to meat, after trying for hours unsuccessfully with everything known to man....bang,bang, bang....strange things fish!

River level falling in the morning had two barbel and a couple of eels!!! Midday the level started rising and went a bit reddish/orange?? Never had another bite but a lovely day nonetheless.

River was in the fields so didn't fish.

1chub, 3 barbel, very short feeding pattern for the barbel , caught between 12.30 and 1.30.

4 chub caught in the first 5hrs, 1 barbel 9lbs 9oz just as it was getting dark. All caught on meat.

12 degree air temperature, 9.6 degree water bit quite clear. Fished 4 swims and had the only bite from a 4lb Chub an hour before close. Fished same swims I had 3 fish from last week.

Although the river conditions and weather were favourable, the fish were reluctant to feed.
Water visibility was good so perhaps should have acquired some maggots. Occasional taps and rattles using pellets but all fish fell to sweetcorn used with a ground bait feeder.

Just fished the morning until 1.30, the conditions were as good as it gets for this time of year, overcast and 14°, manage 3 barbel 5lb 10, 8lb 4 and 9lb
