The river looked really nice on this well maintained fishery, with sky grey and overcast throughout the day.
Despite this however we failed to get even a knock throughout the whole day, dispute trying a number of swims along the fishery and a combination of baits.
First blank this week.

Thankfully cool after last week but very sunny for most of the day. I'd hoped the bit of rain yesterday would cool the water temp enough to switch the fish on but no, 6 bites between us all day resulting in 3 Chub, a beautiful 9lb barbel and 2 barbel hook pulls. Tried hemp and gb feeders, and straight bomb with a load of hookbaits. Fished down the bottom and maybe should have moved to the top in the afternoon but the swims in the bottom field looked most likely in the conditions. Still a glorious day on a beautiful beat with great work done on it.

Firstly I would like to show appreciation to the massive amount of work that has been carried out on this beat clearing numerous new swims and cutting steps in the bank it has improved an already excellent fishery well done to all concerned, now to the fishing late afternoon evening session and as I was the only one present I baited several swims and fished them in rotation but only one chub of 4lb and 2 eels fished until curfew to no avail.

Much better day today, fish were more cooperative. 4 decent sized barbel and lovely to see a small barbel of about pound and a half. Most fish were caught using pellets also rolled meat worked as well. Fished the bottom end of the beat both days

Rather hot day which made the fishing rather slow. Lovely stretch of water despite the lack of fish landed. Sure there are fish present but they would not give any three foot twitches

The 1 under "other" was an eel. A very nice days fishing with lovely setting and very good access down the banks. Dean and Chapter bank access needs to be made like this! I will certainly book How Caple Court fishery again.
