hmmmmm, very hard going weed,coming downstream ,sunny ,low river, no barbel? but still had a great day! thanks wye and usk.

river low,barbel seemed to have vanished here this year, angler on other bank ka splooshing large leads over to our bank ,never mind , thanks wye and usk

Fished alone as my friend had a work commitment and think he was best off. Despite the day long deluge the river was low clear and still very weedy.
Landed 2 nice looking barbel and lost one and that was it for the day
Will be back as lovely beat.

caught nothing all day. i used to love this beat for its almost guaranteed bag of big chub with the odd decent barbel thrown in, sadly that is no more.. totally devoid of fish, i spent over an hour walking the banks and did not spot a single fish apart from a few salmon jumping. will not be back..

One Chub well over 5 lb.. felt like a barbel and nearly dragged rod in ! Beat not as productive as last year but looked in good condition.
