River clear but plenty of water, a very nice 6 hrs on my local water, i can see it from my place, started at the bridge at 7am, no sign of fish , so started with a size 16 grey duster, 5 wbt 6 to 10 ins, 1 grayling 10 ins and 1 parr. Tried tungsten nymph in the deep runs, all fish on the grey duster.

River low and clear, weather was changeable, starting off cloudy, then sunny finally a thunderstorm.
The fish were in a feeding mood, sadly I wasn't on form. I fished dry fly all day and despite having dozens of takes, and at least a dozen hooked or at least touched, I only managed three trout. I just couldn't keep them on the hook today.
Despite this it was a nice day out on one of my favourite beats, despite getting soaked on the way back to the car.

First foray out to this beat.....a lovely couple of hours making my way up half of the beat length. Managed 5 wbt and one salmon parr. 3 to the klink and others on nymph below. Nice and open compared to my more local Arrow jungle warfare.

Still a bit of colour in the water and decent fly hatches all day including some mayfly.
However didn’t see a rise all day so again fished nymphs.
All fish took the heaviest fly on the point mainly in the faster water.
2 large Grayling close to 2 pounds caught 1 with the dorsal fin missing maybe otter?

First river outing of the season. Needless to say that the river is very low. Had one small fish and lost a few more (using size 20 barbless hooks!)

A rather grey day with little fly life or surface activity searching bottom half of beat with nymphs and spiders. Two small OOS trout and a brief glimpse of a grayling before it wriggled off the hook. Plenty of fry in the margins.

Enjoyable day but wow how this bear has changed since my last visit!!!!
All fish came to a size 16 green meanie ( nymph of my own creation ). Few bumped takes as well and some really fast takes to a size 16 Klink. Biggest oos brownie over 1lb and biggest grayling around the 1lb mark .
