We fished beat 2 on the beach and caught 3 barbel to 5lb and 15-20 chub to 2lb on pellet and meat. Very hot day so happy with what we managed to land. A lot of canoe traffic from 11 am throughout the day.

Not an easy days fishing with extremely high temperatures reducing the fishable swims to those few providing an element of shade.
Nonetheless a great day was had, resulting in one Barbel of just over five pounds and seven Chub up to three pounds.

Arrived at 3 o’clock temp in truck showing 34deg felt a lot hotter than that!!!,decided against the long trek to the bottom end of the fishery and stayed in top meadow.River very low with little flow,2 small chub float fishing meat feeding hemp and pellets up until 6 o’clock then a steady stream of better fish up to 5 lb 9oz and one on groundbait feeder and boilie at 5lb 4oz just before curfew.

as this was day 3 of our trip to Whitney Court we arrived a lot earlier on beat 2 (the beach) 2 anglers fishing shallow water in very hot conditions with over 75 canoes and paddle boards passing through our swims. However even with these problems we both caught 3 Barbel between us first thing and 16 chub to 2LB, alas even the sight of 4 Buzzards and a regular fly-by a beautiful Kingfisher could not make up for the loss of the first 2 days fishing.

Great looking beat with good access all the way along with Plenty of accessible swims. The day it's self was a disaster 3 anglers already there when we arrived and by 10AM nearly every swim had people swimming in it. So we called it a day by midday.
I know that nothing can be done about people swimming and canoeing but the other anglers, I bet they didn't pay what I paid for the day for 2 rods.
VERY DISAPPOINTING

Warm, difficult day. Access to water was better than thought, but there were only really 5 accessible pegs across the stretch. One of which needed a little gardening and but for a 3 metre landing net, would've proved an impossible place to bring them in. Bank and vegetation were dry, a completely different proposition on wet day, and not for the faint hearted.
That said, there were some very interesting stretches here, and the potential for some large fish. Water was low and clear throughout. Plenty of Ranunculus about, which was good to see. Visible fish included Chub (standard Wye fare) and some very big Perch, one of which was easily a 4lb fish.
Pellet, meat and boilie rewarded, of which meat seemed to be most successful. Nothing consistent. Think fish here may have been easily spooked. Good fight from all Chub. Largest of which was about 5 and a half, Perch was about half a pound. Pike around later on. Seemingly rather large.
6 Chub, 1 Other
