Arrived at the beat and drove through the field looking at the river and it looked high and fast, not confident. Began walking into the woods section and the first swim had a good looking back eddie and a double swim to fish. 1 barbel(7lb 2oz) in the morning with one small chub (~1.5lb) quickly afterwards. After a break and re-baiting spots for lunch had 3 more barbel in the afternoon (5lb 11oz, 7lb 6oz and 6lb 9oz) with the last one arriving as we were begining to pack up at 7pm. Great day.

10 Chub all on Pellet, the sizes were varied between 2 and 4 llb the water was up and coloured.
I would suggest travelling light if you are fishing down stream towards the rocks, there is some hills but levels out after 1/4 of a mile or so.

The beat in dry conditions is fully accessible by car along the whole length, which is easy on the legs! The river was up and slightly coloured, and at the lower end of the beat it was more prolific. Fish were taken on a mix of luncheon meat with pellet / groundbait in the feeder and rolling meat whilst wading, which was fun!
Biggest chub was around 3lb 12oz and barbel 7lb 5oz.
A beautiful venue and one that I would fish again. Fishing in the week meant I did not have the hordes of canoes, swimmers, dog walkers etc!
