Pretty much my last fish of what has been quite a skinny season. Aberedw is like my death row last request beat! Partly because this is where I learnt to small stream dry fly fish and partly because it offers pool after pool of interesting and exciting angling with a chance on every cast.
Was rewarded with 11 wbt all to dries - anything sedgy worked. Some fin perfect 9"-12" specimens along with the feisty 6 inchers. Made my way up to the additional 700 or so yards this beat offers but was welcomed by an almighty downpour. The gorge at the bottom of the beat turned purple and reminiscent of Middle Earth. A few casts were rewarded with an angry 9" trout but rain stopped play.
Great day, every angler needs a death row beat!

First time on this stream and a lovely afternoon's fishing. Half a dozen trout to 10". Very few rising and all fish came to a bead head PTN.

A very quick stop off - 1.5 hours fishing in very bright conditions middle of day, lower stretch only. No fly hatches, pools clear and full of small spooky fish. Landed 4 x trout 8 to 10 inch and missed a few. 4 x salmon parr as well. All on nymph below klinkhammer. Unlike some other wild stream beats the fish here almost always prefer nymphs.

An enjoyable couple of hours with the trout i feeding mood especially in the first 200 yards upstream of the bridge where the parking is located.
9 trout and 1 salmon par all to nymphs. I did have a brief spell on the dry and had some takes but none to hand or net

Had a morning session on the Edw above the main road bridge before breaking camp. Very low as expected and it doesn't take long to fish it now as there's very few decent pools! That will all change of course when it gets some rain. The trout where in good nick though so lets hope they hold out a while longer!
The wading's a bit tricky now with the thick algae on the rocks, the usual felt and studs didn't quite cut it today so take care!

Squeezed in 3 hours at Aberedw end of Saturday, took 4 WBT all on nymphs largest 12" from first pool - water a bit low & slightly coloured. All fish in perfect condition, excellent sport on light tenkara gear.

The river is a little low of water, but the day was fantastic. My friends Eduardo and Alejandro were the fishermen working there.

Very pleasant afternoon, river low and clear but still a decent flow. The tree cover is quite dense in places, but not enough to stop fishing in most places - today the cover was quite helpful in providing shade so the trout were less easily spooked. Landed 15 to 11" from all stretches of the river, all on para adams or light olive. What could be better?

Weather was not great with thunderstorm and constant rain throughout 5 hours with few dry spells and just my luck of the day. The stream was very over grown and few fallen trees. As I am new to the sport I found it very difficult casting in such over growth but never the less it was a great day and enjoyed it.
2 fish around 5 inches returned on Adams parachute. I may return one day with more experience behind me. I am interested in reading other comments from the experienced anglers on this same beat but very pleased with how I tackled this.
