Predominately fished the rectory pool as fish showing regularly. One particular fish was a decent size. Used my wading stick routinely as quite rocky underfoot. No takes or fish caught but many showing. Easy to find. Will return.

A good catc h for me on a wild stream, especailly in late June and very low water . Perhaps a very cloudy day after a week of hot sunshine helped? All on dry flies, a couple taken from 'likely' spots, mostly though these were steadily rising fish scattered through the long shallow pools. The number of rising fish was exceptional in my experience.

Beat:Usk Reservoir
Fishing:Trout (Stillwater)
No. of Anglers:1
Caught 3 Rainbows and 5 Browns plus 2 perch on a variety of flies but all fished high on floating line. Flies included Diawl Bach, Black Hopper and traditional wets like Zulu and Kate McLaren.
The weather suited pulled flies through a wave as there was a steady fresh breeze in overcast skies. Really good takes, superbly conditioned trout and a fantastic day out.

Love this beat. Arrived on a cloudy afternoon with occasional light rain. Fished for 1.5 hours from 2 until 3:30. Few rising fish with tricky but rewarding casts to fish under tree roots and branches. First fish was an absolutely donkey! 15 inches caught on a para adams dry sz16. Really great fight on a 7ft rod. Second was 8 inches on the same fly. Caught further up stream on the pool just before entering the wooded area. Great afternoon fishing and always amazed at the size of the fish on the arrow.
