A low river combined with very strong winds blowing directly upstream made for difficult fishing conditions, fortunately the chub were quite obliging and fed in spells throughout the day. The majority of the chub were around 3-3.5lb mark with a couple of chublets, all caught on pellet, unfortunately there was no sign of the barbel.

Had a productive day despite the river being low, slow and full of canoes. By catching a few and then moving swims managed to keep the bites coming with a Barbel, some clonking Chub and even a few good sized eels for good measure fishing pellets on a running rig.

Previous comments about the overgrowth are accurate but it does go some way to providing a very natural feeling piece of river. Today we were assisted by a strong wind which helped to flatten some of the nettles. The bottom pool after the weir provided almost all the Grayling. Found fish in most likely looking pools.

River was low, but there are large shoals of Chub here, the way they took the bait suggests they are very hungry and that may be down to the lack of natural food on the river. The odd Barbel showing, difficult to get at them through Chub shoals though.
