Hard frost to begin the day. River very low and clear. Weather dry and mostly bright. No action all day until a hatch at around midday. This lasted for a couple of hours with spells of numerous fish rising mostly around Lady Alexanders catch. Had two bump off on dry fly and missed a couple of other rises. Access very good to entire length of stretch. An attractive section of river with much variation. Group of people briefly appearing on the opposite bank mid-morning to lob stones in the river was unwelcome.

First time here. Bright and cool with river flow fast and clear. Used Klink and Dink Duo to catch eight grayling mostly in the early morning . No surface activity at all. Lovely quiet beat although quite a lot of climbing over fence Stiles and barbed wire fencing along most of river bank .

The eagerly awaited lunchtime hatch of March browns was postponed until 2.15pm but this sparse hatch did stimulate a rise. Hooked 3 fish on a dry March brown and managed to get 1 to the net. Other fish caught on a copper John.
