No fish showing and a lot of weed in some areas made conditions difficult. 1 small brown trout (beautifully coloured) caught on a size 12 butcher. 45 minute walk in from the road up the track. This water probably fishes better in May/June when you can see a lot of fish rising and there is less weed. If you are fishing the Aberystwyth club waters you may wish to go to a location where you can fish a few waters in a day as the fee for this water alone is quite expensive.

Only fished the morning in the bottom, slow moving pool. Very difficult to wade, but you can if you are patient. Sometimes you perform a few interesting dance-moves, even with a wading-stick. Again all the grayling were of a large size. Saw four "very large silvery fish" jumping in this section.

ok well where to start, I have fished this beat hard over the last two days and have nothing to show for it. I have not seen a salmon, or come to that a trout or grayling, strange real strange , I sat at the hut in the willow pool for half an hour and never saw a thing. So again from this beat a nil return

Fished using nymphs. No fish seen or caught. Tricky getting down to river as quite overgrown.
Water had a blueish colour.
Otherwise, a pleasant day out.

this was a funny and confusing day. We fished hard all three of us yesterday and to-day and didn't see or touch a thing. The willow pool and house pool look great as does the bridge, and spring pool , but they all seem baron. After a seat and chat with the boys I decided to go up to the top gutters, wow what an hour, first off a fish took on the dangle fought it for ten minutes and then ping off it swam . ok calm down and start again, bang into a different fish this one stuck, a full 9lbs the one I lost was bigger maybe about the 12lb mark It gave a quick good fight was unhooked and released without coming out of the river. On a sad point though, I came across a big diseased fish ,in the 18-20lb range, really badly covered in disease what a shame

No salmon caught or seen today.Fly moving nicely throughout the beat at 1’ 3”, on a promisingly overcast day so a little disappointing. If any fish were waiting in the lower reaches for last weeks rain, they appear to have moved on through now. A possible speeding ticket on the way added to a less than perfect day.
