Weather was warm and sunny. River had some colour but quite low. Lots of chub caught in the faster water, barbel and an eel caught in the first couple of pegs of the beat.

A lovely afternoon; the river low, but fish rising. I caught one small grayling on a dry fly and lost another fish, unidentified. I had taken a friend along to teach him the elements of river fly fishing. He had a really good time and even rose a fish, though he had never cast a fly before. A really enjoyable beat, though in many places you need a short rod and a skilful cast.

All fish caught on dry flies parachute Adams or Similar.
Beat is in great condition with lots of activity, spotted lots of trout and hooked up a few but sadly none landed
