A couple of hours' fishing during the middle part of the day under a cloudless sky was always going to be a challenge so I was happy with a nice 1lb trout and smaller grayling, both on dry.
Great to be out on this fantastic section of the Irfon.

Another lovely day on the Wye. Fished from on of the middle Croys, under the willow trees on the far bank rolling luncheon meat. Only able to fish for a few hours around lunchtime, but still managed to catch five beautifully conditioned Chub between 2-3lbs. As on my previous day, a large number of canoeists passed by. Latterly, some youngsters arrived to jump of the Croys and allow the current to take them downstream. They were asked to move further downstream, even though they wanted to jump in by the Hut ! They did so begrudgingly !

Low river and a bright sunny day are generally not the best conditions for fishing and that proved to be the case, could only manage some small chub and nice sized dace, that said it's a beautiful spot to spend a days fishing.

Slow day, with bad conditions and a low river. But a few bites managed all on pellets. Parking was an issue with other people already taking up the lay-by spaces.

Also another angler fishing when they hadn’t booked, not sure how to report this.

A lovely stretch with beautiful quiet surroundings. Lots of fishable swims and well maintained.

We just had a few hours fishing this beautiful beat before heading home. Two lads in canoes suddenly crept up on us but were polite enough to go back down stream when I pointed out that they were not supposed to be there until October.

River very low & clear. Caught lots of chublets on the float and mate had 2 barbel from beach area.
Lovely fishery but not so picturesque as it used to be, as it seems the gardens opposite have closed and become overgrown.

Lovely overgrown wild beat with plenty of small trout around, some of which were rising to very small mayfly duns. It was an ambitious place to try to teach a 9 year old to fly fish but still made for a great adventure. Only a handful of the pools in the middle of the beat are deep enough to hold larger fish and accessible enough to easily fish without spooking the fish, especially as the water was so low.
