Huge hatch of olives at 3 pm, plenty coming to the fly but not sticking. Tried all sorts with no success. Very cold day, nothing rising after 4.30. Only fished 2 hours. Lovely water, good value.

Despite a tough days fishing the stretch is beautiful and thoroughly enjoyed the day. I was however very disappointed by the access, I'd specifically phoned and asked about the walk from the car as this was a gift for my Dad, and it was really quite tricky to navigate for him. I understand that the banks etc are impossible to maintain with the rivers variable levels, but feel we were miss lead by the comments and in hindsight would have booked a different we'd been properly informed. Recommend the stretch just be aware it's not 'excellent access'.

Fishing Passport Note : While a rising rivers always cause issues with access, we are reviewing the Wyebank beat description with the fishery owner and will make any necessary changes in due course. It is not always possible to know about changes in access conditions so feedback from customers such as this is extremely useful.

It would be useful to have a better map of the beat - possibly alongside an OS sheet? We saw no fish, but did see two glorious kingfishers.

Excellent day on a great beat. Normal hotspots not available due to river condition. Biggest barbel 8.2. Grateful to my experienced colleague who provided excellent advice and support!

A very good day fishing. Some very nice fish and good company. Thought I may not make it up the hill to get to the car but thankfully did!

Very enjoyable day at Goodrich. River around .52 at Ross, clarity not bad but an odd brown tinge (chicken farms???) and very little weed in the river which is a bit concerning. Despite only seeing one small fish show in the morning, I landed a 15lb hen fish from the Vanstone Stream in the afternoon. Fish took a 1 inch Willie Gunn tube fished on a floater with an intermediate tip. Fish was still quite sliver and swam off strongly after a few minutes resting in the stream. My thanks to Mick (ghillie) for his expert advice. I would strongly recommend his services for anyone visiting the beat, particularly if it’s a first visit.
