Great beat but could be difficult to access in wet weather conditions. River very low and weather too hot and sunny for fishing but 4 anglers managed a few barbel and lots of chub. Pellet/feeder and cheese on the float caught fish today. Access to the barbel pegs was ok in the dry and some have rope and stake to assist but could be difficult in wet conditions. Overall a great day in difficult conditions but we will be back when there is a bit more water on.

The beat is lovely and Mr Woosnam was extremely helpful when we contacted him for inside info re the fishing. The fishing on this particular day was tricky but it was still immense fun.

8 x trout 6-12 inches, Rusty Klinkhammer. A very early dawn raid to get ahead of the dog-walkers and I found some of the larger trout (by the standards of this little stream) were lying out on the pool tails. Very sorry to hear the news about Stephen over the weekend.

Another really muggy one , was out walking the pooch at four , that was pleasant having tried to get some zzzzz's in the stifling heat , so up with the bats and raring to go !!!!

Opted for the Edw at Cregrina , parked up ,looking a bit sorry for itself I thought !!! Oh well ,here now so tackled up and headed down to the start of the beat , some of the shady pools already showing some rises , so good news ,on with an eighteen Para Adam's initially . Some lovely confident takes this morning, on the dries . Stuck with them the whole three hour session , also fished a Parachute Greenwells , and some lovely takes on that too !!!

Very very slippy bedrock , pretty exhausting stuff too be fair , and fished a tad passed Fedw Farm ,with a tally of seven Edw browns to the net , and three or four slipped off !!! Had had enough by then lol !!!!

Up passed the bridge reminded me of fishing for blennies in Rock pools at Tenby beach , very cautious approach to them , and a cast at the head of each little pool normally produced a reaction to be honest. Fish today in the five to ten Inch range , great fun as always, lets hope this thunder weather produces some heavy rain . . . . That would be just the ticket !!!!! A spot on three hours sport , lovely job!!!!

River was quite low but still a good flow on Beat 3. Fished the left hand bank about 200 yds upstream from the car park using 12mm pellet and feeder. A couple of early bites in the deep water towards the opposite bank and eventually netted a small but excellent Chub to about 1lb.

Left pretty soon afterwards as the heat was building and the threat of thunderstorms became more likely. Excellent communication throughout from Terry and looking forward to the next session.

Occasional rises during the day but not as much of a hatch as when we last fished a week or two back. At least 20people swimming, paddling or sunbathing near the corner but they left us alone so no problem our end. Fun. Both trout (returned) caught on dry fly (Taff’s emerged, pale spinner) fishing to rises
