Fished the evening from 19.00 to 21.00 with temperature still mid Twenties.
Nothing doing with nymphs or dry flies till the last hundred yards below the road.
I spotted a couple of rises and caught 3 Trout of around 8 inches.

The section below the bridge has some lovely pools and runs, which due to the cover were fishable even in the bright sun. A good sized grayling was caught from the bottom of the beat.

Fished the afternoon with river was running reasonably well given the recent dry spell, although very few rises to be seen. Access currently gets more challenging moving upstream beyond the half way point. There are several fallen trees or significant timber debris "strainers" needing to be negotiated from the beat start, although they are providing fry with cover and habitat and there are still plenty of opportunities to cast a fly. Managed to find fish in deeper fast water at head or tail of runs. Landed 4 feisty trout between 15 and 25cm and lost around twice as many mainly on a stonefly nymph. Saw plenty of fry in the shallows.

This was my first visit to the Hindwell. It a very pleasant little stream. Weather warm and overcast .River level was pretty fair considering neighbouring beats were very low. Started at the lower end of the beat which was a mixture of depths and widths although reasonably accessible in most parts. A couple of trout came to a dry pheasant tail having seen them rising. After that there was a lack of surface activity so switched to #16 lightly weighted Killer bug. Took 6 more trout and then one final one to a dry pattern having seen it rise as well. After lunch progressed to the upper half of the beat. What a difference!
I walked up around half a mile and found very little water that was fishable due to excessive tree growth and overhanging vegetation. No further fish caught here as I only fished a couple of areas. I would suggest a visit by the WUF clearing team would remedy this as it effectively means that over half the fishing is inaccessible which is a great pity. Nevertheless it was a fun day on a new beat.

Overcast conditions in the morning that cleared around mid-day to reveal a sunny afternoon.
Fished from the confluence with the Lugg nearly up to the bridge. Despite it being overgrown in places there was enough fishable water fro the six hour session. No fish seen rising but one grayling came to a dry fly (Pink-winged BSF) in the afternoon, the other grayling and the trout fell to a Pearly PTN fished duo style.

Another short evening session . 2 Trout around 6 inches on a size 18 IOBO. I think tonight's fishing not helped by the Otter that swam past not 6 feet away in the bottom pool. At least he is helping with the Signal Crayfish!

Unfortunately a very windy day. At times fly was blown out of the water. Persisted for a couple of hours to no avail.
