Cloudy but warm day, with fishing starting at approx 10am after a gentle walk of the beat.
Cracking location, very secluded, but with excellent river access. Water was low and clear, with lots of variety from fast channels and slower deep pools - some so deep they were unfishable.
DB had 2 early trout to a deep heavy tungsten nymph in slow water, followed by a 3rd in similar water further up the beat. SB then proceeded to catch a fingerling in similar water. Fishing moved up to the “gutter” pools, where DB hooked a great fighting trout of approx. 1.5lb (again on a heavy nymph).
Following a brief but well earned lunch, fishing moved to the lower section of the beat. SB took 2 trout in quick succession on a heavy nymph in a lovely mid-paced pool, and missed a snatch at the dry (fishing duo).
As the afternoon passed, DB took another good trout from the deep gutter water, with a token grayling turning up towards the end of the day to take a elk hair emerged pattern towards the top of the beat.
Overall a great days fishing - worth noting that this beat has plenty of water for low water fishing, but much of this may be inaccessible if levels rise...wading is almost exclusively bedrock and hard going even in shallow conditions.

Tough day with clear water and sky. 1 decent Chub first cast in the morning then 3 decent Chub and a Barbel in the last hour. 1 Eel and 1 Perch. Top peg by the weir pool needs some work as fallen tree badly affecting this nice peg.

1 Barbel, 4 Chub, 2 Other
