Felt like the real first day of the season. River still high but some sunshine and warmth. Small hatches of fly and some rising fish. Three good ones on the dry fly the largest a good 3lbs to Mssr Janicot.

Very few signs of trout but a large sea trout spotted in a small pool by the road bridge

Couple of hours spent in the afternoon. No fish rising. Lost one on a PTN. Amazing part of the Usk! Will go again with more time to explore!
