All taken on parachute Adams. Largest 2 just over a pound. River low and clear. Forecast was for rain, which did not occur until the end of the day.
No strong hatch but a variety of different insects evident.

13 Trout

Northerly light breeze; bit chilly at around 11C; river clear but low; light rain later in afternoon. Strong hatch: some mayflies; lots of brook duns / medium olives; some sedges. During afternoon, some trout rising occasionally, some nymphing. Returned two small brownies (8”s). Great afternoon.

Great but difficult day. One trout landed on a dry fly but it was well over a pound.

Hoped the colour would have dropped out a bit overnight, but didn’t. Took one look and left, unfishable. However, drove back past the Usk and got a 13lb fresh fish there instead, every cloud!

Great fishing as always but have heard of several instances of poaching at Talybont. Have found thick mono on the banks in a couple of locations which would suggest either night lines being set up or people spinning/worming. Always keep an eye out when I’m up there but might be worth asking NRW to also look into it but aware they are very under resourced.

I did not fish. The river was in spate and pretty cloudy. It did recover but too late to make the journey.

Good action - rose a lot more so a good challenge. nice hatches of olives and Mayfly

Gusting downstream wind and bright submachine made it hard going. A few rises but nothing seemed to to entice them. Only one brownie to the net. Lovely water and plenty of fishing. Very easy access.
