lovely to be back on the river at the Rectory beat, river at a perfect height but no fish touched or seen ,but a beautiful day anyway. Many thanks to the owner for the improvements, being able to park at the top of the Rocks makes such a difference, unfortunately did not get down the bottom to see the hut but picture looks great. ( plus the gate no more climbing over the fence )

All fish euro style nymphing, best went 1lb1/4. only hooked and lost one fish on dry,fishing blind on broken shallow run,a few rising but not great yet. Nice beat,plenty of easy wading. Unfortunately getting as expensive as the chalk streams down south.

Neil Ashman reported lots of olives and March Brown about, had few fish on olives and nymphs this was best fish all returned.

Bright and sunny with a cold wind. River a bit high to wade across so we parked near the canal to get access to the left bank.

Productive lunch break at Brecon today. Good hatch of grannon & MB in progress when I arrived - heads literally everywhere. 5 small fish to hand in quick succession, lost a few, including a good fish.

Mid teens Salmon from beat 3 on 4" shad. Many thanks to local rods for their advice.

Bright sunshine, climbing to 11C in the early afternoon but a strong and cold wind coming straight downstream. 1' 10" on the Trostrey gauge and the water was 9.5C
Having seen the sunshine when I awoke, I was improperly dressed and felt the cold almost instantly, having to retreat and warm my hands regularly so I could still actually tie a fly on. I focused on the streamy water at the top end and there was a very short hatch around 1330-1340 which saw a couple of trout feeding on the surface. I took three on a homemade pheasant tail nymph with an oversized grey partridge hackle. Smallest was 8", largest about 15". All looked fit and fought well.

Lovely hatch midday of March brown, bringing fish up for a short period , until cold wind stopped it, oos grayling still showing.

1 decent grayling and a pretty healthy BT. Despite there were not much flies around, both fishes have been taken on a large Brown March
