Wet and cooler day that produce a good amount of fish to various flies and techniques. Water level still low and clear.

A late afternoon session after rain in the morning resulted in one Barbel of six and a half pounds coming to the net. Missed a couple of knocks, suspect Chub were being a bit coy. Quite a few fish showing on the surface. The river is still low and will benefit from some rain in the coming weeks. I look forward to returning in the near future.

Fishing:Trout (Stillwater)

Fished from 10:30 to 15:00 using Butcher and Bibio hopper size 12 flies.
Went right from the boat house past the lonesome pine to the boggy area beyond.
Plenty of fish around the lily pads including a nice fish of around 16 inches and a double hookup at one point which was interesting getting them out of the lily pads.
Sport slowed in the afternoon as the temperature dropped markedly and rain started around 15:00.

River very low,...fish spooked easy,...lovely beat, easy wading and access to river all away along,a lot of flat water which with Such low flow were pointless fishing.
Plenty of fish moving but only one on the dry, one on the clink and dink ( nymph ) and rest on tungsten bugs / French leader.
Short beat , 2 anglers would be a overkill .
The only negative about this beat is the price of £28.

River is now running pretty low. Decent fishing in the morning, using French leader technique. Switch to dry in the afternoon, just few graylings. No activity or fly life at all.
