Fished 3-6pm, no hatch to speak of, no fish rising. Saw more of the beat this time, some lovely riffles into deeper runs and pools, lower end of the beat looked good for dry fly found it difficult to get an access point to the river here. Deeper pools and fallen trees made progress upstream difficult and getting in and out was a struggle in places with the bankside vegetation. That being said, very enjoyable fishing. Ran out of time to do the last section up to the bridge. Fished nymphs, caught on a selection of small buggy bead head types.

Started at midday and fished for 4 hours, initially using a dry Mayfly pattern with a hard foam body. Despite there being very little fly life I rose plenty of fish, some of which appeared to be of a good size, but was unable to hook any. Fearing the fish were rejecting my fly the second they touched it I changed to a Stimulator. I hooked and landed the first fish which came to it.
I have fished this beat for the past 8 years around May and June time, and believe the river bed, especially in the slower stretches, is becoming more coated in slimy weed. A real shame for a beautiful stretch of river.

Terrible lack of information on about where to park and reach the river, impossible understand if you're right or having troubles crossing private property and you are on authorised parking, the only sign on the top pool where after had a check I found was a site where crazy people are meeting for satanic
rituals , after drove for hours up and down the fishery excluded the trip from Andover I decided to give up and find a place where to spend the night thank you all for the fantastic nightmare !

A few fish coming to te the surface but nothing to my efforts of dry and nymph. Spent my time in the lower two fields so lots more to see for next time. River bed is very uneven and rocky making wading deceptively tricky.
