Very low and clear water. Strong wind blowing along the river. Only fished the fist part of the beat along the field. Small hatch of mayflies, but bigger trout were rising under submerged branches....
Caught a few small ones.

First time here. As to be expected, getting a little overgrown in places but very beautiful. River low but with a tinge of colour. Big hatches of Olives of various sorts and the off mayfly but not huge numbers. Stuck with dry fly all day. Fish to 12 inches on Adams para, olive emergers and mayfly patterns.

Day two and struggled up here today ,very quiet, mind you it was a late start today and have the feeling I missed any hatching flies. Might have done better with a sunk fly I guess but enjoy the dry so much along here .Bit less tree climbing too! Some impressive clouds of large spinners (LBD?) gathering over the water though as I contemplated the return journey up 'The Hill'!
Alas I didnt make it up to the 'tunnels' at the top section today. There be the home of good fishes....well , usually.
Maybe the fish where just waiting for the mayfly, who knows hey. I think it is maybe better for them up on this beat but the one fish was a cracker and rose it first time I covered it so more than happy.
Kingfishers where very busy and saw some Sand Martens too . Great.
Even better parking up here now with the new gateway and considerate farmer it seems leaving plenty of good room for parking , lots of room, and always stand a while at the gate in to the field admiring the fine view before the descent.

Fished p.m. and evening. Day of sunny spells and cloud shadow. Plethora of fly life above, on and in the water, including a few mayfly, but not the fish activity to match. Saw only five fish rising, spooked one, missed take from another and caught last three small trout in same glide on Adams at last knockings.

had a couple of hours nymphing the heads of pools . 14 stuck and as many shook the hook. only a couple of rises caught my eye which were juvenile trout splashing at olives . all between 7-10 inches with nothing any bigger showing. the sun was lighting the bed of the stream by 1pm which pretty much killed the fishing.

Well decided to give the lovely Llynfi Dulas a crack this morning , so headed down after getting up at sparrows fart , to feed the pigs , hens and give the pooch a good run around before I ventured off . . . .
About seven degrees and climbing when I tackled up at tenish , walking down the steep field to the Brook , the Llynfi Dulas looked a picture , and I was hoping some feisty brownies would be playing ball this morning . . . .
Turned out a pretty tricky three hours to say the least . . Nymphs GRHE, and various PTN 's tried , and dries , after hour or so , having worked some lovely water , first hit , and a small seven inch brownie to hand , seems they were livening up , and next pool , another , ditto in size , but beautifully marked fish all the same . . . . .
Did attempt duo , but no takers on that , so reverted back to two nymphs , no takers from the biiiiiiig pool , where the stream joins the Dulas , and one more fish , perhaps six inches , from the next pool up , was a fun morning , no decent feisty brownies showing today , still earlyish I guess , and with th more settled weather this week , may bring them out !!!!!!
Lots of insect life about in the valley , LDO's , MB's and stoneflies , in fact lots of them at one point . . . . Viewing the water no rises at all during the whole three hour session , ah well that's life . . . . Tempted by a visit to the Honey Cafe on the way back , but resisted and made a right turn instead of a left . . . . A fun three hours , and three gorgeous small brownies to hand , back here soon , it s a lovely valley . . . . . . . . . . . . .

A cold day with sleet showers every hour. Still managed a good catch and there was a small hatch of olives around midday. Took one fish on the duo before deciding the swap to two tungsten nymphs in the deep pools. This took another five trout and an out of season Grayling.

The very lovely little Lynfi Dulas never fails to disappoint , the trout this afternoon/evening went from 6" to 11" and in superb form !
I was hoping that the Mayfly would be on the up and up they where , high in the air ! Nothing really hatching all day and did try a may spinner pattern for openers but they weren't really having it so switched to the old stalwart size 16 para Adams and that did the business . Very well in fact , kept the same fly on all day , most unusual not to lose one to the trees ! Might frame that one....
Nothing much rising during the day (very bright but plenty of shade over the river here ) but fishing the fishy spots (and there are lots and lots of them here !) got the appropriate response , even if they didn't all stick.
Some very big clouds of olive spinner late in the evening , and Mayfly too, over the water and some spent fly got them going on top proper and was a joy to see and just sit and watch a time . Seems fish numbers are very good at this time , great.
Big numbers of bugs on the stones , all the usual suspects .
Didn't quite make it up to the runs and pools up to where the brook comes in , next time , it's usually very well worth the effort !
A fantastic and hugely varied beat .
