6 x grayling 10-12 inches, 1 x out of season trout 10 inches, trotting. A few hours on a bright and frosty morning before going on to Swansea. The river at a good height and clarity, having been high yesterday, but fishing a little slow.

The river is still low but clear. Despite the persistent rain it fished pretty well. There were a lot of tiny grayling willing to take a fly and a few of their bigger brothers, including a double header. Successful flies were a gold bead ptn and a shrimp pattern.

A nice bright frosty morning so had a couple of hours on the Arrow. Slow going until I found a small shoal of Grayling where I caught 5 in quick succession including a nice fish of 16 inches. All the rest 8 to 10 inches and caught on a shrimp pattern.

6 barbel between 2 rods a good return considering the day started at -2c with a heavy frost and the the mist from the river swirling. Usual method of pellet feeder with either pellet or boilie on the hook
