For someone who did not catch any fish, it might seem strange for me to say that it was an excellent day. Conditions were perfect and there were many fly hatches and related rises during the day. Best time was between 11 and 4. The problem was merely the competence of the angler. I had 7 fish of varying sizes on but was too slow to react. The fish were rising to a mid brown fly which I attempted to replicate. As I was the only person on the beat , there was plenty of good fishing and I will return to conquer it.

Started at the bottom of the beat about mid morning with plenty of flies and fish rising. Between the old man and me we managed one 12” trout and missed or lost another 5 or 6. The fly life lasted well into the afternoon though by the time we sat down for lunch the fish had gone quiet.

Headed up into the woods and there were a few more fish rising again but mostly smaller ones. Managed to land one in the faster water at the top of one of the pools. Made our way back to the lower part of the beat early evening and though the heavy showers promised by the weather forecast didn’t show up there was some light drizzle about. Managed to land two more before the temperature started to fall and it was time to trudge back up the hill to the car.

Really nice beat, thank you very much.

What a day out. Two brownies euro nymphing one didn’t fit in the net possibly 3lb+ in perfect condition.
Fell in, at the weir, lost my bifocal polarised glasses, found my glasses then moved to the upper pool, and caught two with the dry fly feeding on mayfly emergers.
Wonderful day out. Walkers by the riverside were very friendly. Definitely recommend this river.

Cloudy and humid with large hatches of LO and BWO. 1 fish in the morning and 1 in the late afternoon both on nymphs. Very surprising as there was a lot of surface activity after lunch but the fish were incredibly selective and refused many dries.
A wonderful beat no less and we managed to avoid the storm predicted to arrive around lunchtime.

Always so nice to fish Bugeilyn, nice breeze down the Llyn, bit of sun. Lots of fly life and rising trout. Fished usual small black dries and had plenty of action in the morning. Change of weather in the afternoon with heavy rain meant a bit of pulling wets, still bagged a few more.
