2 Barbel, 16 Chub

A chub filled day for the two of us. Mostly trotting meat tactics, but also caught on rolling meat, feeder and trotting bread up in the water. Great fun. Day completed with a PB 10lb 3oz Barbel on feeder. Cracking. The other was an eel.

All fish take on corn, fished over pellets. Chub to 5lb, all in great condition. Plenty of fish activity but no barbel to the bank. One eel for my father-in-law in the "other" category.

Lovely little wild stream - farm owners very friendly and pointed me in the right direction to get to the bank. Saw a few rises but no fish for me this time. Nice couple of hours on the river

Bright hot sunny day. No fish showing until around 4pm where a few rises started to show but only a few. Tried heavy weighted nymphs i.e. tungston grubs along with many other types i.e. GRHE damsels, diawl Bach, hares ear etc etc all at different depths, we tried emergers we tried every dry fly pattern in our boxes but only enticed 1 x soft pull in the early evening.

However, the scenery was fantastic, the location makes it all worth while fish or no fish.
