River well up, chocolate brown and racing through. 4oz feeder just holding. Caught steadily throughout the day, swapping hookbaits to keep things ticking over and lost two very large barbell to hook pulls! you win some you lose some I guess! Barbel to just under 8lb and Chub to over 5lb. Excellent fishing and in a stunning location. Top day out

The wind and rain finally held off for a few hours so I had a day just fishing the top half of the beat to the end. There's some great stretches here with easy access and casting. A few tiny flies hatching, not enough to bring on a rise, but there were a few rising and I managed to catch 8 trout, one a good 14 or 15 inches. All took a small size 16 emerger pattern.

Good conditions in the morning, several fish seen and covered to no effect. River rose and coloured up a lot during the afternoon forcing us to abandon fishing at 4 pm. A great beat and a very enjoyable day.
