Hoped that there would be a touch more water following rain a couple of days ago but river very low and clear . Only fished a couple of hours pm but had two small grayling sub surface in faster water. Saw a Kingfisher by the bridge. Looks good for winter grayling with a variety of water. I'll give it a try again then. Nice beat with some new fencing and access points. Thanks.

What a lovely place, had two fish on in the little run but unfortunately lost them both in the fight. Salmon moving in all of the pools.

River low and clear but relatively clean, a small flush Tuesday? Saw no trout and no interest in dries or klink/nymph duo, till later in the afternoon the trout looked up. Landed 5 very fit trout at 8" to 10", and missed a couple, on a small grey/blue para. A pleasant day, except at about 6, near the top of the beat, a thickening grey stain appeared from upstream, I do not know where from- no sign of distressed fish and the dippers were still active, but I stopped fishing. Hope its nothing serious.

Fished this beat in Sept 2016 and was looking forward to adopting a roving approach but unfortunately I took a right tumble on the initial descent ( caught my foot under an exposed tree root ) which resulted in a winding , a bruised ego , and a horrible snapping noise that turned out to be a bust rod top section. It wasn't enjoyable at the time but now I've narrated the story to my family their hysterical laughter has proved a tonic. Needless to say I didn't fish but the episode hasn't dampened my affection for the stunning River Wye and I'll return soon.

Tough day, with only two very small fish (one barbel and one chub) between the three of us. Fished the same method and swims as the previous day, but with very different results. That's he way Wye fishing goes sometimes!

A surprisingly slow day, this.... After some rain on Tuesday and the river rising a bit I expected there to be more signs of life. Whilst there were a few trout rising, it was mainly coarse fish in evidence, with on only one showing of a salmon all day. The Rock Pool seemed lifeless too....

I caught some small trout and a perch!

We fished all day from 7.30 till 20.15, all we had between us was one bite which after two seconds decided that was enough. A truly hopeless day!! Nice place but the fishing left an awful lots to be desired!

Decided to fish a little later than I usually do and turned up at midday. The river looked wonderful however the amount of streamer weed coming down was unbelievable and didn't stop all day. It was all through the water column and I fished at least 8 different swims in an attempt to avoid it but to no avail. Lines didn't stay in the water longer than 10mins before being carried down stream and I was using up to 6oz.... This is the second time in 3 trips that this has happened and ruined the last of my three sessions. Appeared as though someone upstream was clearing swims as the weed looked cleanly cut.

Managed to somehow land 1 barbel at around 7lb and 2 chub of 3lb each. Not sure if I'll be returning!
