A beautiful summers day on the beat I grew up fishing with my father and grandfather. Warm (24c) with intermittent cloud. Fished from 2pm to 8.30pm with a break in the Bell.

There were light intermittent hatches through the afternoon of a variety of species. Some mayfly still but mainly sedges, olives and tiny caenis (?). The bottom section and the slow water just upstream of the wooded section most productive on dries. A lovely day on my favourite beat in the world. In the end a parachute Adams took my fish.

River is now the perfect height at 0.4m on the Trallong gauge. Fished a couple of hours on the evening ticket. Not as much acitivity as I was expecting based on the previous evening. Just a few spinners falling.

Fished from about 11.30 until 16.30. Maybe this was the wrong time of day to fish this stretch with the water being crystal clear and low and the weather being mainly bright sunshine. I say this because I didn't even see a fish. Nothing spooked, not a single rise spotted, and inevitably no fish caught.
A nice day out though.
